Lacking a "Miscellaneous" category, I thought I'd pose this question here. I'm planning on defretting one of my bass guitars (my cheap, unused one), and am considering using veneer for the new fret markers/lines.
Does anyone here know where I can get a small quantity of veneer in the Sacramento area?
I'd like to see it in person before buying so I get the color I want.
Thanks,
Waterman

Good Idea, I just created a new category. You might check out this guy www.luthiery.woodyboyd.net He just posted his Email in the links section. He might know where to get a small amount of veneer.

You can also try Bill Dawson in Placerville 1-530-903-6160. He did a few set-ups on some of my guitars. Knows his shit and did a great job. Reasonable priced and I'm sure he can direct you in the right dirrection if he can't do it for you

Thanks guys. I'll check with Woody Boyd. I should have figured a luthier would have access to veneer. And I'll be sure to graphically document the conversion process from fretted to fretless.
