I played with my little garageband a Louie's Jam a while back. I can't say anything but kudos to Steve and the people at Louies. I had a wonderful time and can only assume that people that have bad experiences bring them upon themselves

Steve Foster is cool once you get past his playing and his personality.
J/k Steve is a great player, a great guy and one of my very best friends.

Great video and glad to see that Prez is paying attention to the Blues. Steve Foster? I don't want to nice him to death, but he combines the elements that make for good jams. ~ You don't get 15-20 minutes of dead air between sets (unless a bass player went to get the amp for his stand-up bass - that he left in Cleveland) ~ He keeps a lid on loud, and "runs the jam" - he doesn't just turn people loose. ~ Steve provides a house band that can "cover the waterfront", whether they're needed to back blues, rock cover tunes, or originals. ~ He's smart enough to have someone like Randy Carey as jam master - putting together sets and prompting jammers on and off stage.
That sense of pride and professionalism could be impressive on it's own but what I think makes Steve stand out is his humility and genuineness. He has paid his dues, done it all, been through more than anyone should have to, and what's left is a humble, forthright, stand up guy - a rarity in today's world.
