Greetings....I don't really have much to say....but after checking out Craig's List the last day or so I thought I might come here and see if anybody had anything positive to say... Like....I love playing....I love hearing others play....it's all good. I don't hate any of you. I don't begrudge that you might like music that I am not that into. I don't feel compelled to bad mouth any of you.... Ahhhhh.....I feel better already. Peace out.  |

Hasn't C.L. been one big negative ,freekin', circus! I'm glad we have mature people on this site. I guess them folks still don't get it; If you don't like a certain venue or person, don't go there or talk to that person. I've been to places where there was someone I didn't care for but I didn't let it ruin my time, their time, or anyone elses. learning how to be an adult , having a professional attitude, and a willingness to play nicely with others is not difficult to do but it does take continuous practice. Music of any kind should be encouraged by all, for all and stay a possitive way of expressing oneself rather than verbally or physically trying to destroy all that is good. Besides, what does all that bad shit do for your karma, etc. ? what comes around, goes around.. love ya man!

Oh I just want to add. Don't bash the clubs and especially the jams as they are providing a place to play, and an audience, for you, for FREE!!! or you'd still be playing in your bedroom ( I would have liked to post this on CL but it's not worth the time and effort, besides it probably gaurantees being flagged

I stopped looking at CL a long time a go as all it was was a bunch of whiners and complainers. Checked it again the last couple of days just to see what was going on, and it's the same stuff. CL is a joke most of the time!

CL seems to be extra heavy on the hating in the last few days. but the funny part is i did not click on one re: today and im glad.

hipchip...I'm with you. I had not even looked for over a month. Then did a few days ago and I was reminded why. Vicous stuff...I would rather spend my energy somewhere else. I reckon it tells you something about the practice of anonymity (forgive the spelling.)
I do want to take this opportunity make sure that I did not steer Rand wrong and have him think I am "mature".... ;D

Flagging....reminds me of kids that are, say, six years old that cover their ears and "sing" so they don't have to hear you....and the age of six kind of fits.

Some of the things these folks complain about have been around for decades! I used to live in LA and the local music paper was always talking about pay to play venues, at least here you can play for free.
You have to get started somewhere and somehow, so why the haters on CL can't figure that out is beyond me.
I haven't been to Po Boys since it was the Village Green owned by Big Mac, but I figure any venue that we have is good, especially considering a few years a go there were pretty much only two blues venues in the Sac area, The Torch Club and the Sutter Street Saloon (now the Powerhouse Pub), so we shouldn't be complaining!!!

Well here we are another day older and wiser. Still feeling postive. Have I mentioned lately how great it is when musicians get together and all "find" that magical groove? That electricity was discovered so we can all plug in and play? (Not that I mind getting out my acoustic gear mind you.) That this board was created (thanks guys) so we have a better way to pass our time? That there are many jams in the area that available to play if you are so inclined? That nobody forces you to go to a jam if you are not inclined?
