ok, not sure what is going on here, seems to be a fricking cluster-funk, The Drivin Blind Band was booked for last nite, we show up and there's some country band set up onstage, and the bar man says the old booker left and took his calendar w/ him. I heard today, at least 3 other bands had shown up also. This place sucks right now.  If any of you think you're booked there, you better check it out first. Its always been hit -r miss there, but I like the room, and theres usually an ok crowd, at least until the sheriff dept shows up .. |

Is the Valencia Club in Woodland? This last edit is almost a year old. Anybody play there recently?

The Valencia club was in Loomis, but it closed about 6 weeks ago

It was in Penryn, or the road to Penryn. I sure hope someone reopens it. it's a classic road house, part of a vanishing American culture.

Unoffically reopened for a few days recently by a local vagrant. Seems he had a key, was going down to the local liquor store, buying alchol and re-selling to patrons walking in the door. Unfortunately, one was a local law enforcement person...

Yes indeed!! Great new management and staff, great food, all ages.
We are doin a very successful jam there Sundays at 2, hosted by Steve Foster.

And we will be doing the jam this Sunday out back, and the game will be on a HUGE TV in the bar!!!

You all better watch out for that Valencia Club....Any place named after a type of orange has got to be fruity!
And Sundays? Forget going there at all! That way I can have all of the BLT's and great drinks, and good music for myself!!!!
Oh, I forgot....that Steve Foster guy lays down on the job, that's right...we actually saw him lay down on the ground, put a mic stand over his chest and play guitar and sing!
That dude is stoned nutso......And i love every bit of it!!!!!!!!!!!
