speaking of therapy defiance, get some Amen to that, Tug. Seriously, therapy helped me get past my mentally interesting state. If you want I can refer you to a therapist who specializes in dealing with the difficulties that artists face in our society. After several years I am still coping with my tendency to paranoia, but I know it for what it is.

It is hard to believe that a player would cut his own neck just to get a gig, by under cutting you guy's. those moco people seem to be doing a bad job of helping live music stay alive. Good on you jlv. Dont let them get to you, you are one of the originals that helped pave the way for those that have followed. You and steve and the boys are the better men.

jlev don't let these moco people get to you. You are an original that helped pave the way for others to follow. By trying to undercut you they are hurting all musicians. I am sure that your integrity is intact, and theres may be suspect. Good on you and Steve and the guys.Oh, by the way your chops are up nice to listen to. jtm

This isnt my doing, its Steve Foster. I just wanted to preserve this well written rant that will probably get flagged on CL - ( If this bugs you Steve, let me know. I just thought it was a nice post )
****************************************************
Hey, before we get too deep into the B.S. about how moco helps anyone, consider this. We used to get $300.00 to host the jam at Po Boyz, they went in with a pitch about how great they were and ruined the gig by playing for 40 apiece (X3). Misbehavior and drunken fighting of members ended that. Don't think they've ever had jams anymore. Maybe now that Kenny Blue Ray has moved here, they'll have him again, I don't know. This is a total ego trip. There is no need of any kind for an "exclusive" group of jam hosts. I'm more into "inclusive". Think about it mocoites, you're acting like a religion. Everybody is supposed to "feel" how you "feel" about your jam. Nonsense. We have many different personalities around town and that is a beautiful thing. You guys are homogenizing the jams and bringing a staleness to the jam scene. Same old, same old. Certainly the steady stream of crap you peddle on CL doesn't make you look good. Seems to me the only people that are drawn to your cult are people that have nothing and are seemingly resentful of people that go out and succeed. I'm uncomfortable with this language about how you "support" musicians. You have not supported me in any fashion whatsoever. Haven't seen you at my gigs .Is it because I won't wear a moco beanie? Before you guys started peeing in peoples cornflakes, I hired a couple of you for casuals, you've never reciprocated. Support? I come from the days when conformity was shunned. Individual style and personality meant more than "fitting in" with the high school jocks. "Clubs" were for nerds. We weren't "joiners" and we didn't want to wear uniforms and march in lockstep with others. What's happened? When did musicians become "brown-shirts". Would George Harrison have participated in something like this? Jimi Hendrix? Sly Stone? How about Janis Joplin, Freddie King, Merle Haggard, John Lennon? I'm guessing not. Keeping it Real, Steve Foster (I don't flag anything, don't believe in it, and don't need to hide behind anonymity)

Richard, thank you for getting that post over here. That was one of the best Craigslist postings of any type I have ever read, and it makes me even more glad to know Steve Foster. When my little garage band wanted to try out our stuff in public, Steve, who was at Louie's at the time, was more than accomodating. He gave us a great intro, and was happy to answer any questions for us without judging or making us feel "less than" for being novice musicians. There are others who are like that in the area, Angel Reyes, Joe Lev, Jimmy Collazo to name a few. We have never been treated as equals at any MOCO jam.

Cris, thanks for that. That alone shows where MOCO is coming from.
Our feeling is that the jam is about you guys(all the jammers) more so than about us(the hosts).
