Very Interesting

Probably not many Metal fans here but anyway this is kind of interesting. I have been into this cartoon called Metalocolypse its a fictional Death metal band(kind of like spinal tap but more violent) it shows on Adult Swim. The actual music is done by Brendon Smalls(the Creator) and an All Star lineup of Metal Musicians. It seems that the first album has sold more copies than any other Death Metal record to date, and the new second album has outsold Slayer and Megadeth two of the top selling metal acts. WTF a cartoon outsells real bands? I will admit the production and songwriting is just awesome but is this what the music industry coming to? You have to have a cartoon or TV show to sell records? I recently saw the Tour in San Jose and it was a very entertaining show.


Has anyone else watched this cartoon? Or am I The Lonely Metalhead?
