Im just wondering how often that any of you practice alone ?
I personally never really practice at all. I not saying thats a good thing, that just happens to be the way that it is for me right now. I usually just 'cram' before a gig when I have to learn new material, and that works out for me. Im sure I would be a better player if I practiced more often, but I just dont have the time.
Any thoughts ??

That is one of my weak points also, unless i'm in writing mode i really don't practice much by myself. I have a few instructional videos i need to watch. one is the Warren Haynes Acoustic slide guitar. That should be fun. gotta get my mojo workin again.

When I am not really lazy I practice a few times a week. I go through some exercises I learned from my teacher Todd Johnson. He has some great videos out, run a youtube search to get a taste of what he is about. His Technique Builders(for bass guitar btw) really work.
Then if I got stuff to learn for gigs I work on that. If I have time and inclination after that I have been poking through a book on bass guitar sight reading from Berklee.
I find that practicing is really important for me to be at my best, even though I play a lot.

As much as I play you'd think I wouldn't miss practicing, but I play so much better when I have been practicing regularly as opposed to not and just playing gigs

Its varies, I go in spurts. I usually like practing along with Band in a Box. It helps me keep up on the non- standard chord voicings. Sometimes I'll go on You Tube and find something to practice with. For me, its not a time issue, its just getting inspired or motivated to practice.

I practice each night. I do snare drum drills and double kick drills. Its takes maybe 20 minutes total. I do get ideas I need to get from my head into my hands and feat. So I'll work on that to. I want to keep adding. What else am I doing after work? Watching the same politicals blather I heard the night before.
