Just signed up on this and think this is site is a really great Idea. I'm supprised though that there aren't more members. while I grew up here in Sac and Auburn25 + years ago now, I have yet to go to the open jams like I did in Marin. but plan on it at some point soon. I really would like to get out and play more, but I don't drive, so trying to get into a band or doing live sound has been a challange. but it can be done. so just thought I put this out there, that I am looking to do either of these things so if you might know of anyone that needs a soundman that be great while I get my chops back that be great anyone heard from Tim Barnes lately? Thanks A

Thanks for the props ;D
It will take a while to get enough members, but i think we have a good start. It will just take all of us working together to make it happen. There are a lot of musicians in the area (good and bad) and we all should have a place to network with each other.
Thanks again

I must agree that this site is a welcome addition to the other internet tools available for the Sacramento musician. The one thing I particularly appreciate on this site is the lack of nonsense BS that one finds on a site such as, oh, let's pick one out of a hat, craigslist. Now, I'm not knocking craigslist, I get most of my work from the site, and so find it an invaluable tool for my business. What I am saying is this, on this site, it seems to me like there is more of an adult mindset, or if you prefer, a higher degree of expressed intelligence. Specifically the lack of nit-picking and arguing that goes on on some of the other sites available to the Sacramento musician. I have seen people voice differences of opinion on this site, but I have, not to date, seen any silliness like name calling or other forms of childish behavior.
So, in closing, I too openly express my gratitude to Richard for forming this forum. I would also like to thank the other Administrators and Moderators for their invaluable contributions. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the members of this group for their contributions, no matter how small. We may still be small in numbers, but if we continually keep the quality of our posts as high as possible, there is little doubt that our numbers will grow and in time, we will become a place that is recognized throughout the greater Sacramento Valley area as an invaluable meeting place for all things musical.
Thank you,
kingmarki
