is Sun City Lincoln. That's right, the retirement community. Played a show there with my band(Joe Lev and Friends). It was in a theater styled presentation room, holds 125 and was about 3/4 full. Average age of the crowd had to be at least 70. So we kind of eased into, doin some swing, ballads, and country. But what we found out is, they were there to rock. By the end of the hour and a half show we were playing I saw Her Standing There, Jumping jack Flash and I Got a Line On You, in full rock and roll mode.
They were an incredibly attentive and enthusiastic audience, much more conducive than a bar gig, the staff and management of Sun City were great, plus I was home on my couch by 9:30.
All and all a great gig!!

I love gigs like that, they are the best
When I lived in Humboldt County, my favorite gig was at the Elks Club. Again, the average age was way up there, but they appreciated every song we played. We always played swing for the first set ( a swing club had a lot of members there ), and then after that we rocked out. It was once a month for almost 5 years, I loved that gig. THey always had us play on a 'cook your own steak night', which forced us to mingle with the crowd.
After a few months, it was my favorite gig. Several of the older gentlemen would always shake our hands after the gig saying, "you did real good tonight son"
Good stuff

As a friend pointed out, all the rock icons of the 60s are of the age for Sun City and the Elks Lodge.
