Hi - My name is Steve and I'm offering drum lessons. I've played all my life and drum now for a cover band from Grass Valley (Mad Dash.) I was in a classic rock band named Rockinbocker and a Steely Dan tribute named Steely Scam. I know rock, funk, blues, bluegrass, and reggae drumming well. To start off, we’d work on beats. To play good beats you have to have a quick foot. I’d give you some drills for that. Then we'd go over some basic fills. Then we'd work on playing an entire song, section by section. There's a lot of repetition if you recognize the song sections. Its important to have a beat to fit each section. And its important to transition smoothly from one section to the other.
