GAS = Gear acquisition syndrome I thought I was set, I thought I has over needing new gear. That was until I saw this BEAST. SS and Tube preamps, 2x600 watts at 4 ohms (not bridgeable but no big deal) the preamps are footswitchable. The kicker, IT WEIGHS 6.75 POUNDS !!!! www.genzbenz.com/?fa=detail&mid=2393&sid=610&cid=95Anyone ever play thru any Genz Benz gear ? I used to think it was crap, but I dont know why.

I use a shuttle 6.0; 600 watts into 4 ohms, tube preamp, four pounds, and I think it's a miracle. The thing that sold me on it was the voltage switch. I can use this anywhere in the world and it fits in the pocket of my bass bag.

Thats great Do you find it has lots of headroom on its own ? Or do you have to rely on PA support? Whats the largest gig you have played with the 6.0 all by itself ? What cab were you using ? whew, is that enough questions for you I currently play with BBE Bmax pre going into a Mackie 1400i. I have plenty of headroom just using half the amp. the Mackie is at 500w at 4ohms. I just drag another cab along at big gigs and use the other half. If the 6.0 is a true 600w at 4 ohms, that would be enough. I could just haul my heavy crap for the occasional outside gig where I would need more oomph. Thanks for the feedback. The 6.0 looks like the ticket if it can take it by itself

I've never had an issue with headroom with the Shuttle. For most gigs I use a Bergantino HT-322 (two 10's and a 12) with it, but for smaller rooms I use an Avatar 2x10 Neo 4 ohm. It's as loud as I ever need it to be.
I love it.

I think Im sold Im so sick of lugging my heavy junk around. I took a chance on a light avatar 4x10 cab, and I love it. Im going to take a chance on this as well. I just might ecomically stimulate myself into some new gear Thanks for all the information, its nice to hear that its not just good on paper.

If you're looking at the GB Shuttle, you might want to also check out the Carvin BX500. It is under 6 lbs., 500W at 4ohms, has scoop and contour ability, and 2 EQ sections (use one with a foot switch while playing). And, it sells for about $400 right now at the local Carvin store.
