Looking at getting a 5'er and was interested in a MIM Fender Jazz. However, it looks like they only make these with a scale length of 34" and I've read and have been told that a 35" would be better for a 5'er because the low B will sound better, clearer, more articulate etc.
Any opinions? If you agree with the 35" scale being better for a 5'er, what brand do you recommend that would be in line price and quality wise to a MIM Fender?
Thanks!
Rob

I think it depends on the bass, strings and setup as much as anything. Being vertical challenged myself, I found 35" basses a bit hard to handle and my 34" Yamaha 5 has a pretty bitchin B string.
I have been impressed with Fenders 5 string Jazz.
