I'm putting together a side project, and need a drummer to fill in the last piece. If anyone on this board knows of a fit for this project below are some details
A few details:
•With a few tweaks, this link is probably just about the perfect 2-hour show set list: - itunes.apple.com/us/album/huey-lewis-the-news-greatest/id153926396
•This link is to NewsFlash: www.YouTube.com/watch?v=ReCzqlOVBd4 - they are the only big HL&N tribute around and they're out of New Orleans (there isn't any competition on the West Coast) but this is what we would be going for
•demos can be cut without anyone else having to work on it -I can do studio versions.
•We are building backing tracks so ability to play to a click track is huge
•We have a someone who can build the website & Facebook Pages
•Everyone will need to be able to sing - HL&N's harmonies are hooky and fat
•Our Singer work for AEC (www.associatedentertainment.com). One of the largest entertainment booking agencies in the nation. With the right promo including a slick video, we jump almost directly into high-dollar shows for fairs, festivals and corp.
•You would need to study your character and learn their stage act and mannerisms (think of this as more as a musical theatre performance than a straight cover-band),
*commit to 3 days straight- 4-hour rehearsals just prior to the first show (to tighten up endings and work on stage interactions and scripting). After that, not much rehearsing at all.
•In general, you would play and sing almost exactly what your character plays. You can use live YouTube videos to help you figure it out. Huey sings all of the harmionies on the studio tracks so each of you should let us know what your comfortable ranges are (tenor 2, bass, tenor 1, alto, etc).
•EVERYONE would have creative input.
would like to be able to book the first shows staring in April 2011
