Recently I was contacted about auditioning for a new musical group - they had a big marketing scheme/plan, were working up a fancy web page, scheduled professional photo and video shoot, had a current contact list for potential venues, representation, partial set list, and NO RECORDINGS!
Is it me, or isn't that the cart before the horse? So convinced they are the next big thing, and yet the very heart of the thing (supposedly a musical group) there was no actual evidence of....
The music comes first does it not? Or is this why I make a modest living because I spend too much time working on my sets and the actual music I am making rather than a splashy web page and pomp?
