Fox & Goose Open MicThe Mandolin Avenue band is the Featured Artist 2/9. Bring your friends, leave your dog at home. --------------- The Fox & Goose open mic on Monday is the oldest open mic in the Sacramento area. Who knows who you'll see and hear there since almost everyone who plays bluegrass or folk or is an independent singer-songwriter has played there. You might also hear blues or jazz, just depends on who shows up. Oh, they have Pub Grub (til 9:30) and a full bar also. Come Eat, Drink, and be Happy. ur. ---------------

The Fox & Goose open mic on Monday is still happening. It's been going on since 1975. Acoustic oriented but we're not real picky, just don't take forever to setup cause that takes part of your 15 minutes of fame.

Just letting you know that the Fox & Goose open mic is still going on. The new mantra is BYOA, Bring Your Own Audience. Know that all them other guitar playing singer songwriters came to hear themselves... just like you did. If you want an audience, bring it!

the fox 'n goose open mic night a couple of mondays ago was a great experience for my 18 y.o. son who had his "first solo" in front of a club audience. thank you, fox 'n goose management for the valuable opportunities you offer musicians and interested audience members! (from a proud mom)

any regulars at the F&G open mic have an opinion as to whether the house management ever pays attention to performers on Monday nights? The reason for the question is that the current booker passed on my acoustic trio without much explanation and I think we could change their minds with a live sample - I'm just not a huge fan of pushing a working project on a songwriter's open mic night audience.

Not a regular there, but I always figure showcasing for the buyers is a legit use of open mic/jam time. Just my opinion... What say you, Dave Baldwin?

Yes bring it, but the booker doesn't show up there for the open mic. So Grateful, that's not how to get it done. Stay after him and put a show together that will draw people. Hook up with some other acts that work okay with yours and pitch that to him.

Like Ken said, the booking agent doesn't come around on Monday nights. He does have a long list of local acts to draw from already. Ken's advice is good, work up a show and hook up with others.

Oh yes it is still goin on after 35 years and counting... And still, in 2012, it is stillll goin on! And I'm still doing it after 7 years on the job! Open Every Monday but Labor Day and Memorial Day... closed for Christmas Eve this year and there will be a New Year's Eve party on Dec 31st instead of an open mic.
